Abstract
Teens, Crime, and the Community links education and community services to reduce the high rate of teen victimization and to engage teens in making their schools and communities safer. The three primary components of the program include a curriculum, integration of community resource people into classroom lessons, and operation of teen-led service projects that address specific needs in the community. These programs operate in more than 400 schools in 40 States, as well as juvenile justice settings, housing projects, Boys and Girls Clubs, and other community-based sites. This booklet outlines the highlights and successes of the program and includes policy papers, selected articles, and news clips. 1 appendix
