This 1993 annual report of the European Network for Policewomen (ENP) describes the wide range of activities in which the ENP was involved in the various countries it represents.
Abstract
The ENP was founded during the International Policewomen's Conference held on March 23, 1989. The primary objective of the ENP is to optimize the position of women in Europe's police services. Some of the general activities of the ENP are to establish contacts in each European country and build up a database of contact addresses, to share knowledge and experience on the position of women in various European police services, to promote mutual support among Europe's policewomen, to encourage international training and research into subjects relevant to the performance of Europe's policewomen, and to organize a European policewomen's conference every 2 years. This report is presented under the five spearhead programs referred to in the policy plan "Unite to Succeed," which outlines the ENP's plans for 1992 to 1997. These programs relate to training and education, research, publicity and public relations, advice, and central services. Activities in each of these areas are briefly described.
