Abstract
The conference papers covered a range of topics, including medical decision-making for children in relation to cultural and religious beliefs, representing children with mental disabilities in the juvenile justice system, case planning, social security benefits for children, representing parents in child protection cases, ethical issues related to delinquency cases, and birth fathers' rights in adoption cases. Other subjects discussed at the conference included using child welfare agency administrative data in judicial proceedings, pretrial resolution of child protective proceedings, alternatives to incarceration for juvenile offenders, evidentiary innovations in child sexual abuse prosecutions, and legal and policy issues in kinship care.
