This fiscal year 1994 (ending June 30, 1994) report of the Australian Criminology Research Council (CRC) provides information on research projects initiated, continued, and completed.
Abstract
The CRC consists of representatives of the Commonwealth, State, and Northern Territory governments. The Council controls and administers the Criminology Research Fund, from which research grants are made to researchers undertaking criminology research projects. The research pertains to the causes, correction, and prevention of criminal behavior. Contributions to the Criminology Research Fund by the participating governments for the 1993-94 financial year amounted to $319,000. During the year, 50 applications with a total value of $2,132,823.50 were received. The Council could only fund a small proportion of the applications (20 percent). An appendix provides details of projects that the Council was unable to fund during the year. Information on each of the 10 projects receiving grants includes project title, the recipient, amount awarded, research goals, and research methodology. The one research project that received additional funding is also profiled. Ten reports of completed research are also summarized. A financial statement is included along with appendixes that list research in progress, previously completed research, and unsuccessful research proposals. A subject index
