The author stands by her contention that her evidence showed a trend suggesting that rape victims are not more likely to report stranger rapes than acquaintance rapes despite the fact that earlier research using the same data found significant reporting differences between victims of stranger and nonstranger rapes. In addition to this multivariate analysis, univariate data from the National Crime Victimization Survey revealed significant changes in rape reporting. While the rates of both stranger and nonstranger rape have increased over the past few years, reports to police by females raped by nonstrangers have risen at a faster pace than reports made by females raped by strangers. 1 figure, 1 note, and 10 references
