The opening article notes that Aryan Nations -- once the most violent, radical neo-Nazi group in North America -- had a dramatic growth in 1994 after years of decline. The Idaho-based group emerged in 15 new States last year after being in only three in 1993. The article concludes that with its aggressive recruiting campaign and its new link to the worldwide hate movement, Aryan Nations is poised, as it was in the early 1980's, to assume command of the white supremacist movement. Another article reports on a case in which two Pennsylvania Skinhead brothers have been charged with the murders of their parents and younger brother. The article examines the possibility that the murders were done under the influence of an Aryan Nations leader. A third article documents the decline of the Neo-Nazi Skinhead movement in 1994. A review of 1994 hate crimes reports that although the number of bias-motivated murders decreased from 30 in 1993 to 18 in 1994, assaults prompted by the victims' race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation increased from 183 in 1993 to 228 last year, a nearly 26-percent escalation.
