The 1993 annual report of the Montgomery County, Common Pleas Court Juvenile Division indicates that the Juvenile Division is charged with protecting the community from juvenile delinquency and with serving child victims of abuse.
Abstract
The Juvenile Division has seven specific goals: (1) protect the community through just and speedy consequences for juvenile delinquents; (2) protect abandoned, neglected, and abused children and to assess and seek treatment for children in need; (3) be sensitive and responsive to individual victims and their families; (4) provide individualized justice for offenders; (5) hold parents, guardians, and custodians accountable if they fail to meet their obligations; (6) be a leader in the effective use of community resources to treat children and families; and (7) demand high professional standards. Data are provided on referrals to the Juvenile Division, judicial dispositions in juvenile dependency and neglect complaints and child abuse cases, and Juvenile Division programs and services.
