This report details the 1994 activities of California's independent State agency that handles complaints involving judicial misconduct and disability of State judges.
Abstract
The commission has nine members: two justices of the courts of appeal, two judges of the superior courts, one judge of a municipal court, two attorneys, and two citizens. Each member has a term of 4 years. In 1994, the commission recommended to the Supreme Court that two judges be removed from office and one judge be publicly censured. Three judges resigned or retired with commission proceedings pending. The commission received 1,320 complaints and considered 997 by the end of the year.
