This article reviews some of the pertinent findings, which are complex and occasionally contradictory and often use questionable methodologies. Nevertheless, the evidence strongly suggests that under certain circumstances, violence broadcast over the media can lead to aggressive behavior, desensitize audiences to the consequences of violence, and cause fear.
