General provisions of the first part concern structured sentencing, felony and misdemeanor sentencing, multiple convictions, aggravated and mitigated sentences, enhanced sentences, and punishment limits. The second part deals with responsibilities of a community penalties program, the sentencing of persons who have used or threatened to use a firearm during the commission of a crime, punishment for felonies and misdemeanors, the sentencing of habitual felons, prior convictions of violent felons, verdict and judgment, forfeiture of licensing privileges after felony conviction, and probation conditions. The second part also describes criteria for selection and sentencing of youthful offenders to IMPACT (Intensive Motivational Program of Alternative Correctional Treatment), special probation rules, probation revocation, imprisonment, postrelease supervision, life imprisonment without parole, sentence appeals, capital offenses, and sentence reductions allowed for work.
