The directory is divided into four sections. The first includes the telephone numbers of national hotlines that may or may not have a toll-free listing. The second section, emergency services and local hotlines, covers shelters and related services for runaway, homeless, and missing youth; shelters and assistance for survivors of domestic violence and rape; emergency assistance including food, clothing, transportation, financial assistance, and outreach; and local hotlines and information and referral lines. The section covering child abuse reporting numbers includes State name and address or regional telephone numbers for reporting child abuse in each State. The appendix consists of a State abbreviation key, city-country key and an order form.
