Some benefits of urbanization are the availability of a larger work force and the development of fast and efficient communications and transportation. An examination of the effects of urbanization on the juvenile justice system focuses on the community, the police, the prosecutors, the court, and the correctional and rehabilitation centers. Suggestions for countering the negative impact of urbanization on the juvenile justice system include increased funding for juvenile justice, youth participation in the administration of government, youth divisions for all government agencies, and improved training for juvenile justice personnel.
