This report describes the activities of the New York Senate Standing Committee on Crime Victims, Crime, and Corrections during the 1994 legislative session.
Abstract
In addition to considering more than 120 bills, the committee conducted a hearing on work release, cosponsored the 28th annual inmate art show, considered nine nominations for positions on various State boards and councils, and inspected three correctional facilities. Legislation focused on nine topics: (1) rape and sexual assault, (2) crime victims and witnesses, (3) sentencing, (4) local crime and corrections, (5) probation and correctional alternatives, (6) State prisons, (7) corrections officers, (8) temporary release programs, and (9) parole.
