Abstract
The address discusses the work of the State Supreme Court and the Circuit Court, court services, court technology, judicial education and training, relationships of the judiciary with other governmental branches, finances, and the judiciary's strategic planning. The bulk of the document contains the 1994 annual report of the South Dakota Unified Judicial System, which presents a functional summary of the State judiciary, and overviews of the activities of the State Supreme Court and Circuit Court. The report also describes judicial staffing for the two courts, and presents statistics on fees, fines, and finances; civil caseload; court service caseload; and criminal caseload.
