This report presents statistical data regarding the correctional populations in California for February 1995, as well as their gender and racial characteristics and movements into and out of institutions and parole.
Abstract
The report also provides monthly data starting in February 1994. A total of 126,534 persons were in California correctional institutions in February 1995, an increase of 4,977 over February 1994. Of these, 118,188 were male and 8,346 were female. A total of 10,198 individuals entered and 9,824 were released from correctional facilities during the month. The State had 91,360 parolees in February 1995, an increase of 5,385 from the same month the previous year. Of these, 83,011 were male and 8,349 were female. A total of 9,402 persons entered parole and 8,796 persons left parole during the month. Tables and definitions of terms used
