This report summarizes crime statistics in Arkansas for 1994, using data from the Uniform Crime Reporting program.
Abstract
A total of 117,997 serious crimes were reported during the year; the clearance rate was 27 percent. The crime rate was 4,872 per 100,000 residents. The value of property stolen amounted to more than $94 million, a small increase over 1993. Firearms were used in 73 percent of all murder and nonnegligent manslaughter cases, 52 percent of all robberies, and 30 percent of the aggravated assaults. The 1,026 rapes represented no change from 1993, but an increase of 11 percent above 5 years ago. Residential burglaries accounted for 73 percent of all burglaries reported. Three hundred seventy-one assaults on police officers were reported, and 43 percent of these resulted in personal injury. Figures, tables, glossary, and map
