The Maryland Automated Hotline Reporting System (MAHRS) contains data collected through the six hotlines that form the Maryland Youth Crisis Hotline. MAHRS data are designed to provide a new indicator of substance abuse and the need for treatment across the State.
Abstract
This document contains data for March through December 1993, and for January through December 1994. The tables present statistics on monthly number of calls to the hotlines, characteristics of hotline callers, monthly number of calls related to alcohol and other drug (AOD) use, and AOD and non-AOD calls by county. The system also collects information on characteristics of AOD-related and non-AOD-related calls, the demographics and treatment needs of callers, and the drugs mentioned and injection history of those callers referred to addiction services. 26 tables and 3 appendixes
