Using statistics from criminal courts, police, and crime victim surveys, the report tabulates statistics on the number and per capita rate of women found guilty in 1993 in both local and higher courts, the types of crimes for which they were convicted, the age distribution of those female offenders who were convicted, the penalties imposed on convicted offenders, and their prior convictions.
