NCJ Number

Date Published
1987
Length
79 pages
Annotation
This report presents population estimates for illicit drug use, nonmedical use of psychotherapeutics, and use of licit drugs.
Abstract
Population estimates are presented separately for the total population and for whites, Hispanics, and blacks; they are also divided out by four regions (Northeast, North Central, South, and West). Data in each table are presented by sex for each of four age groups (12-17 years, 18-25 years, 26-34 years, and 35+ years). The first section presents prevalence estimates for specific drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, inhalants, hallucinogens, PCP, stimulants, sedatives, tranquilizers, analgesics, alcohol, and cigarettes. The second section provides prevalence estimates of illicit drug users, while the final section presents information on the frequency of drug use among past-year users.
