This article describes the traffic conditions in Hungary's capital of Budapest, the traffic security situation, and traffic policing activity.
Abstract
The traffic network in Hungary is centered around Budapest. Over the local and agglomerate traffic, the main part of the national and European traffic crosses downtown Budapest. For this reason, fine but extremely difficult responsibilities fall to the traffic policing component of the Budapest Police. The author is the head of the Traffic Department of the Budapest Metropolitan Police.
