Results revealed that 77 percent of the inmates regarded their relationships with correctional personnel in general as favorable. Ninety-four percent were positive about relationships with inmates in their hall, 96 percent with prisoners in their work party, and 93 percent with prisoners in the prison generally. They also related their relationships with specialists such as chaplains and education staff positively. Thirty-eight percent had been concerned about their safety at some time during their current imprisonment. Only 12 percent of the staff rated the atmosphere as being tense in any way, and only 1 percent rated it as very tense. Staff rated their relationships with inmates as generally positive and regarded the facilities as being very clean. Staff tended to have more favorable ratings of the food than inmates did.
