Abstract
This paper summarizes the main findings from a 1993 national survey of probation services and social services departments (SSDs) with respect to the management and delivery of Youth Court services. For the purposes of this study, Youth Court services include bail support/remand management, agency representation in court, the provision of pre-sentence reports and the supervision of offenders, including the provision of high tariff alternatives to custody programs. Results of the study indicate that both SSDs and probation services seem to have responded positively to the challenges of the Youth Court. References
