Complexities of parking enforcement management in small coastal communities and their future impact on law enforcement are examined in this futures study.
Abstract
The study consists of the following sections: (1) data collection and analysis in which trends and events are recognized and future scenarios are developed; (2) strategic plan that incorporates alternative policies to achieve the desired future; and (3) transition plan to manage proposed changes. Study results indicate the need for a regionalized approach to parking enforcement management. A model is presented for regionalizing parking enforcement where coastal communities join in partnership to meet future parking demands. The use of advanced parking technology is discussed, and graphical depictions of trends and events relevant to parking enforcement management are included. References, tables, and figures
