The first table shows monthly populations by commitment and movement type, as well as prison population movements for the end of each month from June 1994 through June 1995. Commitment/movement type are listed as felons, civil narcotic addicts, those under the jurisdiction of the youth authority, county diagnostic status, "safekeepers," and "other State/Federal." Data are presented as a total population and for males and females. Prison population movements are under the categories of new admissions, broken down as felons, civil narcotic addicts, and others; parole returns; paroled; discharged; died; and other releases. Where appropriate, each of these categories is broken down into subcategories. The second table shows the number of arrivals/transfers in various categories from June 1, 1995, through June 30, 1995, along with departures/transfers for felons, civil addicts, and other presented as the total population and as males and females. Other tables pertain to the institutional and parole populations' racial/ethnic distribution and the overall parole population and movements.
