This report discusses the operational activities and advisory services initiated or carried out by the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Branch of the United Nations Secretariat, the two interregional advisers for crime prevention and criminal justice, and the regional advisers on crime prevention and criminal justice for Asia and the Pacific.
Abstract
Crime prevention and criminal justice has developed into an area of increased technical cooperation among the international community. This report provides an overview of technical assistance activities carried out under the auspices of the United Nations program on crime prevention and criminal justice, stressing the increased number of requests for training and the development of a broader partnership among intergovernmental and nongovernmental agencies. The report describes interregional advisory services, the development of a database on technical assistance needs in crime prevention and criminal justice, future technical assistance activities, and funding requirements to implement those activities. 4 appendixes
