Data were obtained through interviews with the male prostitutes who completed a questionnaire covering demographics, education, current living arrangements, childhood care provider information, age at first prostitution experience, and length of time involved in prostitution. The results are discussed in terms of the youngsters' social support networks, areas of worry to them, their perceptions of good times, and their ways of seeking help from family, friends, and formal services. The book also discusses the subjects' risk behavior and awareness of AIDS, and racial differences in responses across the study's question areas. The book also presents some individual profiles of young male prostitutes interviewed for the larger study. 21 tables, 2 appendixes, and 163 references
