Learning disabilities may occur at any of the stages in the process of receiving and expressing information, i.e., input, integration, memory, and output. This article examines the general effects of learning disabilities, the prevalence of such disabilities in the Canadian inmate population, ways in which correctional facilities identify inmates with learning disabilities, and ways in which treatment and programs can accommodate those inmates. 7 notes
