The increased internationalization of business provides major opportunities for economic growth, which in turn are threatened by the accompanying growth in international business crime.
Abstract
Part of this rise in transnational and international crime rates stems from rapid advances in technology, communications, and transportation that have produced a global network of 24-hour trading markets around the world. This article describes the spread of business crime, both domestically within the U.S. and abroad, in countries including Russia, Italy, and Hong Kong. Successful international law enforcement will require stepped up domestic law enforcement efforts in each country, bilateral initiatives to increase cooperation between national police forces, and multilateral efforts to ensure a maximum impact from international law enforcement collaboration. 19 notes
