These four audio cassettes present the transcript of the presentations and discussions of the special issues involved in the prosecution of child sexual abuse; the discussions were held at the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children's Second National Colloquium in June 1993.
Abstract
Directed mainly to prosecutors, the presentations and discussions focused on issues such as victims' recanting of testimony, the admissibility of evidence, hearings, interactions with victims and suspects, and the need for followup investigations and interviews with witnesses if delays occur before the trial. Issues related to trial preparation, witness credibility, and various other aspects of the prosecution of cases of child sexual abuse were also examined.
