This bibliography contains an annotated listing of the 84 research reports presented by the Department of Justice Canada since 1988.
Abstract
Listings that pertain to abuse of the elderly include an annotated bibliography and the development of a standardized definition of "elder mistreatment." A number of listings address the evaluation of the Impaired Drivers' Program, which is designed to reduce drunk driving. Listings that pertain to sexual assault include an evaluation of the handling of sexual assault cases in Montreal before and after the 1983 reform, the monitoring of child sexual abuse cases in various jurisdictions, and the impact of the 1983 sexual assault legislation in Hamilton-Wentworth. Other listings address the nature and prevalence of street prostitution and the impact of relevant law. A number of listings consider the use of victim impact statements in various jurisdictions, the victim fine surcharge in British Colombia, and the Yukon Victim-Witness Administration Program. Other listings pertain to sentencing, pornography, firearm ownership and use, and domestic assault.
