The integrated technology package enables corrections personnel to track visitation, inmates' whereabouts, library books, and other scheduling details. The only visible means of security in the detention center are the bars that cover the windows and the fence surrounding the property. Included in the integrated package is live-scan fingerprinting, an automated fingerprint identification system, digitized mugshots, and inmate and records management. The doors, telephones, and other facility features are operated by the computer system. Each inmate has a wristband with photograph, name, prisoner number, and bar code. Inmates use a cashless system to pay for toiletries, radios, and candy as a deterrent to contraband problems and gambling. The system also informs transportation officers about which inmates are due in court on a particular day, the charges, the bond, and the criminal history. The system also tracks medication and health treatments. The facility houses up to 676 minimum and medium-security inmates, screened and assigned to cells by charge, criminal history, and behavior.
