This report presents recidivism rates for 1987 in Cataluna, a region of Spain.
Abstract
Five hundred individuals were incarcerated in 1987; 8 percent were female. Recidivism rates are given by age of person at recidivism, age at first offense and incarceration, age when leaving prison, type of crime, and duration of incarceration. Comparison percentages are given for timeframes before, during, and after the year analyzed. Factors related to recidivism are also examined including type and duration of previous sentence. A general overview of recidivists and nonrecidivists is offered in table form.
