The kit includes sections composed of modules containing several presentations adaptable to teaching style and followed by lists of print and resources, casework scenarios with ideas for initiating discussion, handouts, and summaries. The sections provide basic information on the principles of adult education, suggestions on alternative workshop formats, characteristics and living arrangements of older adults in Canadian society, and the types of abuse and neglect that elderly persons experience. Further sections focus on identification and assessment of abuse of the elderly, intervention in cases of abuse of neglect, and prevention strategies.
