This report provides data and information on the operation and functions of the Maryland courts for fiscal year 1995 (July 1, 1994, and ending June 30, 1995).
Abstract
It presents statistical information on both individual courts and an overview of the Maryland judicial system. Data are provided on judicial revenues and expenditures, followed by an overview of the Maryland judicial system, which consists of the Court of Appeals, the Court of Special Appeals, the Circuit Courts, the District Court, and the Orphans' Court. The section on judicial administration contains reports and data on the Administrative Office of the Courts, judicial personnel services, education and training, judicial information systems, circuit court management services, the Select Committee on Gender Equality, sentencing guidelines, and fiscal management and procurement. Information on court-related units encompasses the Board of Law Examiners, the Rules Committee, the Maryland State Law Library, the Attorney Grievance Commission, and the Clients' Security Trust Fund. Information and data are also provided on judicial conferences; the appointment, discipline, and removal of judges; and 1995 legislation that affects the courts. 62 tables and definitions
