The report provides baseline data so that changes in the drug problem can be measured and tracked over time. The information was compiled by the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, a program funded by the Office of National Drug Control Policy that creates Federal, State, and local antidrug partnerships tailored to the needs of the region. The region includes the City of Baltimore; Baltimore, Howard, Anne Arundel, Charles, Montgomery, and Prince George's Counties in Maryland; the District of Columbia; the City of Alexandria, Virginia; and Arlington, Prince William, Fairfax, and Loudoun Counties in Virginia. For each jurisdiction, the report presents information on factors related to the drug and drug-related violence problem; population estimates and projections; racial composition; educational level; median income; school suspension and expulsions; drug source city, sellers/suppliers, buyers/users, transportation routes, locations, major drug seizures, and drug networks; criminal justice resource information; offense and arrest data; and treatment population data.
