This Joint Resolution, Public Law 98-473, made continuing appropriations for fiscal year 1985 and contained provisions applicable to the Crime Control Act of 1984.
Abstract
Provisions of the Joint Resolution cover bail, release and detention pending judicial proceedings, sentences and sentencing reform, restitution, probation, fines, imprisonment, postsentence administration, the U.S. Sentencing Commission, forfeiture, mentally ill offenders, Federal assistance and block grants, criminal justice facility construction, and death benefits for public safety officers. Other provisions concern runaway and homeless youth, missing children, currency and foreign transactions reporting, violent crimes, prison contraband, juvenile records, witness protection, crime victim compensation and assistance, counterfeiting, credit card fraud, and terrorism.
