This monograph introduces Substance Abuse Mental Health (SAMH) program screening and assessment instruments, instructions, special systems and clinical considerations, and copies of actual forms.
Abstract
This manual will assist State funded providers and the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) in providing adolescent services and treatment. The manual includes a chart of Assessment Center SAMH Process; Chart of DJJ Screening & TASC (Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities) Assessment SAMH Process; the Juvenile Justice Reform Act System, including juvenile TASC programs; introduction to SAMH-1 screening process; instructions and clinical considerations for DJJ staff; sample SAMH interview and preliminary screening form, with recommendations and clinical considerations; introduction to SAMH-2 assessment process, with in-depth guidelines and systems considerations; qualifications for TASC/juvenile justice staff and TASC worker assessment/case load guidelines.
