Abstract
Following an overview of judicial administration, court committees, and court organization, financial data on D.C. courts are presented. Information and statistics are provided on the Court of Appeals and the Superior Court. Court caseloads are characterized according to criminal, civil, family, and probate case activities and in terms of civil dispute resolution, intake and referral, small claims mediation, family mediation, tax cases, petit jurors, and juror panel utilization. The administrative structure of the court system and the link between courts and the community are examined. The annual report also covers adult probation, adult presentence investigations, rearrest rates for adult probationers, juvenile probation and social investigations, intrafamily and abuse activities, and court transcripts.
