This directory lists the contact persons, telephone numbers, and addresses of social service, health, juvenile justice, and special service agencies that assist children, youth, and families in each county, city, and State, as well as national organizations and Federal administrators and policymakers for related programs.
Abstract
The directory lists and describes both public and private agencies. The listings are grouped by cities and counties within each State. State-level information explains how the human services, health, and juvenile justice agencies operate throughout that State. The lists of agencies in each city and county follow. The social services agencies include departments for child protection services, adoption, foster care, child welfare, child care, and other information. Health services include health departments with divisions of maternal and child health, family planning, immunizations, nutrition, mental health, alcohol and drug abuse, and others. Juvenile justice agencies include juvenile and family courts, probation, police agencies, and juvenile correctional facilities. Special services agencies include treatment centers, psychiatric and specialized hospitals, special schools, domestic violence centers, and community service programs. The directory also lists Federal administrators, Senate and House committees, national resource centers and clearinghouses, shelters for runaway youth shelters, Armed Services YMCA support centers, and sources of specialized services and products for professionals and families.
