This searchable CD-ROM presents the complete 1994 and 1995 editions of the Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics, which presents recent statistics on crime and criminal justice; the data were collected by public and private agencies, academic institutions, research organizations, polling organizations, and other sources.
Abstract
The data are organized into the following six categories: (1) characteristics of the criminal justice systems, (2) public attitudes toward crime and topics related to criminal justice, (3) the nature and distribution of known offenses, (4) characteristics and distribution of persons arrested, (5) judicial processing of defendants, and (6) persons under correctional supervision. Most of the data are national in scope; the statistics are also arranged by region, State, and city when possible. The information is presented in Adobe Acrobat PDF files and can be searched on Windows, Macintosh, or UNIX computers.
