Drug use in Hungary, at both the national and personal levels, is viewed as a dangerous disease.
Abstract
The author points out that toxicomania is not connected only to certain age groups, people, or social classes, and that agents of plants used for thousands of years can now be synthesized artificially. These synthetic drugs have been a major impetus to the drug problem. The author reviews the history of drug use and its legal control in Hungary and analyzes drugs available on the Hungarian market and their physical and psychological effects. 2 footnotes and 1 figure
