The number of filings in the trial courts increased from 1,396,273 in the previous year to 1,455,660 in 1995, an increase of 4.25 percent. The majority of the increase occurred in circuit, superior, county, municipal, and probate courts. Dispositions by the courts of records increased by 6.25 percent, while dispositions in other courts remained virtually constant. The most common method of case disposition was by guilty plea or admission in criminal, infraction, and ordinance violations cases. The second most common method was the dismissal; the third most common method was an admission through a traffic violations bureau. Fiscal data indicated that total expenditures increased by 3.88 percent, while revenues generated through the operation of the courts increased by 11.20 percent. Tables and figures
