The facility has 38,000 square feet of space for the setup and live testing of virtually any system produced in whole or in part by Motorola. The CCSI facility has 27 separate assembly areas, all with electrical power that is compatible with both U.S. and European standards. Telephone lines and other necessary cables are out of the way underneath raised flooring. Each area is also capped by a walkway that allows observation of the system and its operators without having to go down onto the work floor. Overhead lighting systems and cable conduits facilitate rapid change of equipment layout. The CCSI was of particular value in constructing communications networks at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Motorola's communications system for the games included more than 12,000 portable and mobile radios, 6,000 pagers, 1,500 cellular phones, 1,500 computer models, and 250 radio repeaters. 3 photographs and 1 table
