Individual papers focus on changes in juvenile justice policies, the relationship between juvenile drug use and youth violence, policies toward mentally retarded offenders, violent juvenile offenders, juvenile rehabilitation, and life without parole as an alternative to capital punishment. Additional articles present case profiles of juvenile death row inmates, the issue of wrongful conviction, and the impacts of juvenile violence and homicides on the families of victims and offenders. The final papers describe five programs for offenders' families and adolescents at risk: Reconciliation Ministries of Tennessee Friends Outside Organization; the Reach and Teach Program of the Freedom Club of Clifton, Tenn.; Northwest Youth Outreach in Chicago; and Phoenix Youth at Risk.
