The instructional units at the Community Policing Academy are briefly described, along with the time frame for presenting each unit and sub-unit. The instructional units are an "Introduction to Community Oriented Policing," "Framework for Community Policing," and "Creating Effective Community Partnerships." The modules are outlined for administrators, mid- managers, and patrol officers and citizens. The 1996 training schedule for the Academy is also included in the packet. The packet also contains a list of community policing resources. This is an ongoing compilation of individuals in law enforcement organizations and community groups who have contributed to community policing exchange. These practitioners are willing to share their community policing knowledge and experiences. Included as well are papers on the nature and implementation of community policing, overcoming obstacles to community policing, and problem-oriented policing. The packet contains a work plan intended to serve as a "blueprint for action" for a crime, violence, and drug abuse prevention work plan.
