Abstract
The author begins with a brief explanation of the Internet, followed by a review of legal research and resources on the Internet. These include State statutes, court cases, bills, Federal regulations, and law reviews. There are any number of comprehensive Web sites that are gateways to these and other materials. The "Lawlinks" site by Lexis Counsel Connect has State and Federal materials as well as the weekly "editor's picks" of new legal sites. It also features articles and cases of interest in "Spotlight" and connections to Court TV. Another useful site is "Cal Law," published by the Recorder, which includes the daily advance sheets. This paper also discusses legal services information and marketing on the Net, as well as legal issues that arise in the way the Net is used. The author advises that if the trend toward sophistication of the Net continues, a user should be able to perform legal research more authoritatively; however, as more people come online, the legal issues identified in this article should intensify. 35 footnotes
