This resource book provides information pertinent to a conference on training and technical assistance provided under the Federal Victims of Crime Act of 1984 (VOCA).
Abstract
Conference information encompasses the agenda and workshop descriptions, biographies on workshop presenters, participants list, and a training needs survey. VOCA program information addresses the background on crime victims, an Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) organizational chart, a description of OVC division activities, and VOCA as amended. Also included in this section are VOCA goals and Crime Victims Fund collections, fact sheet, and allocation table. VOCA victim assistance grant program information focuses on guidelines, nationwide database report, tentative site visit schedule, and subgrant award report and performance report forms. A technical assistance document is followed by a review of crime victims legislative initiatives and relevant judicial decisions. Workshop materials include VOCA guidelines and requirements and information on financial management and accounting; gang violence and victimization; quality services to victims of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault; and quality services to survivors of homicide victims and drunk driving victims. Also provided are State profiles for crime compensation and assistance grants.
