Publications of Children's Aid Direct (CAD) indicate the organization has made an effective and measurable contribution in the provision of humanitarian relief to children affected by war in Bosnia, Kosovo, Rwanda, Haiti, North Korea, Sierra Leone, Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia.
Abstract
The publications examine the impact of war on children, particularly with respect to disruptions caused by war, family flight, loss of parents and family, and war-related hunger and disease. The publications also look at ways of responding to emergency needs and humanitarian concerns and emphasize the importance of meeting the health and educational needs of children. A case study detailing the history of the humanitarian work of CAD in Bosnia and Rwanda is presented. An annual review of CAD work in 1995 is included, and specific actions CAD has taken to turn compassion into action around the world are noted. Tables, figures, and photographs
