The text empirically examines lethal and potentially lethal violence in the workplace and addresses the offender, the victim, what happens over the course of a violent incident, when violence occurs and in what kinds of workplaces, and what causes violence. Case examples are included to illustrate the diverse nature of workplace violence. A typology of workplace violence is presented, ways of preventing workplace violence are addressed, policies and procedures to reduce workplace violence are described, and the aftermath of lethal workplace violence is discussed.
