This annotated bibliography was prepared for the Working Party on Restorative Justice under the auspices of the Alliance of Non-Governmental Organizations Committee on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice; the Working Party's goal is to place restorative justice on the agenda of the 10th United Nations (UN) Crime Congress in the year 2000.
Abstract
The bibliography is intended to demonstrate to UN member states the breadth and depth of scholarly restorative justice research and to make available a comprehensive overview of the literature on restorative justice. Annotated citations illustrate a range of topics covered by the literature on restorative justice, including restitution, alternative dispute resolution, peer mediation, victim-offender reconciliation, indigenous justice, balanced justice, victim rights, informal social control, community policing, community corrections, and neighborhood justice centers. The bibliography contains 552 annotated citations primarily covering the 1980's and the 1990's. Title, author, and subject indexes are included.
